Scotch....

I heard Scotch was the swill left over from good Bourbon distillation
and then flavored with orange extract. Could that be true?
I don't believe it.

Besides, had you been under the influence of good Scotch, your post
would have been littered with phrases like 'nectar of the gods' and
'blessed drops of heaven on my tongue' kinda stuff.

Clearly not. There is no such thing as good Bourbon.

Au contraire, mon frere. I recently finished off a bottle of Woodford
Reserve (as a break from the daily Martians), and I'm sure there is
better still.

Any liquor that doesn't have one (but no more than one) of the
following ingredients is undrinkable:

1) Weber blue agave
2) Barley malt, preferably dried over peat
3) Juniper berries

Any bourbon is OK, especially chased with apple cider. An old staple
around the camp fire. Though I would like to try Absinthe before I
die. Maybe see Martians! Just cannot find it anywhere short of going
to Switzerland (and then probably not).

Had a co-worker years ago who drank Tanqueray like it was water. At
the end of the day, he'd clear his throat & joke, "It's Martian
time." I've referred to Martinis that way ever since.

How do they get it through customs? I do not have many people I know
that travel to Europe, let alone Spain. Maybe I should try Craigs List
and probably have the ATF knocking on my door.

Let me know when you have an extra bottle laying around.

....you could go to Spain....there are many 'imitations' available, but you
want the real stuff from Spain.

Whenever any friends go to Europe, I have them bring me back a
bottle....upon the first sip there is a little 'click' that happens in your
brain...totally unrelated to alcohol...

I travel abroad quite a bit and the only limitation that i am aware of
is a 1.5l total. The only reason i know this is i brought back 2l
thru the charlotte airport and they questioned it at the customs
declaration as i was the one chosen to go thru the bag..... then they
told me it wasn't worth the paperwork for .5l of tax money. And then
they sent me on my way totally missing the box of cuban cigars on the
top of the bag.

Why not just open it, and pour it into an empty bottle of squash?

Lazarus (that's what I do, but don't tell the customs)
