Kreh Factor
What's your "Kreh Factor?" Fishing, mine is a two (I've fished with
someone that has fished with Lefty). On fly tying, mine is a one (I've tied with Lefty). Frank Reid |

I am a firm believer in the "six-degrees-of-separation" theory. If given access to ALL the relevant data, I am certain I can find six or fewer nodes between me and anyone else on earth. Qualification: Meeting or touching -- handshake in a receiving line or face-to-face acknowledgement -- is the minimum requirement. He seemed like a decent guy, willing to help out his fellow man, so he offered to check his records. HOT DAMN!, I thought, we're getting close now, boy. And sure enough, it appears that in 2008, they did have a copy of "Presenting the Fly." Since he was being so helpful, I asked if he remembered if it was he who took the copy in or possibly shelved it. He said that as a matter of fact, the record indicated that he did, in fact, buy that lot of books. BINGO! SUCCESS IS MINE! I HAVE A KREH FACTOR!! And you know, it's strange. I didn't think I'd care much...well, as long as I'm admitting stuff, I guess I didn't care much...but anyhoo, I will say that I did feel a little twinge of satisfaction - you know, like that special feeling one gets when they successfully pour themselves a cup of coffee without injury or something.
