The best tool for slicing corn off the cob is a serrated knife. I use a medium sized bread knife. This time of year we get lots of zucchini, summer squash and corn. When the veggies get a little tired, (our Farmer's Market is on Saturday, so by Thursday our veggies are a little tired), think calabicitas. The aforementioned plus some peppers, onions, cilantro and a little bit of heavy cream. Serve it as a veggie entree alongside refried black beans, sliced avocado, guacamole and tortillas. What pound test line is light enough to play the little flies without weighing them down? What tensile strength do you use for butterflies? What about horseflies? What do you use for bait? Some dog doo mixed with SuperGlue? Can you fish only for ******flies, or could you, say fish for moths? Where do I get the proper license? And how do you cook the little delicacies? Steve |

Cover with a generous amount of cheese (either cheddar, mexican queso, or jack) and broil to melt. Serve with real salsa and/or pico de gallo. TC, R Chuck Vance |

Hi Just visited this group to se if there where some interesting stuff about flyfishing, but there doesnt seem to be much about that topic, how odd :-) .....hasn't been (much about fly fishing) for years now. It wasn't always that way. Off-topic insult fests got a big adrenaline boost about 5-6 years ago when George Gehrke joined the group. George is dead and gone now, but his legacy lives on. If you do read this group, you'll notice you only have to ignore about a dozen or so regular posters, to filter down to what little there is about fishing. |

There is occasionally some fishing info here but it is rare Personally, I've never seen a legitimate fly fishing question asked here where no legit responses were received. When someone new blasts into roff and first posts some tripe like that above, and then posts something a few minutes later asking for help, I'm not sure what kind of response were actually expected. Over the past few days we've had discussions about the fishing the Swift River, fishing on Cape Cod, a few TRs from the Western Clave, a TR from Mud Run, good news about Ari Bert (and that IS about fly fishing), a TR and photos from the Pedernales as well as fly photos, wader discussions, etc., etc. What makes roff, well, roff is that we specifically do NOT discuss *only* fly fishing. What a boring and gray place this would be if that came to pass. -- HTH, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |

Well, since I am new to flyfishing, and you seem to know all about it, I'll ask you. What pound test line is light enough to play the little flies without weighing them down? 10-50 pound. Just eat them raw like you did before they put you away. Jakob |
