very dumb and basic question about loop to loop

I would do a Bimini twist on your backing and make it long enough in the
loop so it can be looped over the reel so it is easy
to to attach and un-attach from the fly line.....then make a permanent
loop in the end of your fly line and whip finish the loop with "A'"
thread and liquid nail the thread and do the same on the casting end of
the line or on that end if you so desire nail not a short section of
stiff 40 pound mono like Mason and tie a perfection loop in that to
attach you standing leader...........this has worked for 30+ years FT
