Sacramento Delta

Launched at Russo's Marina at the break of 10:30am. Would have been 9:30,
but get to Airway blvd and 580 and realise the batteries and trolling motor
are at home. Extra 16 miles. Threw a frog mostly on mats. Had some blow ups,
but missed everyone. Some of the swirls were huge, had to be really big
fish. landed one about 6# on a Senko on edge of mats. Had a frog missed a
couple times, so tossed a Senko. Would have tossed more light worms, but
realized I loaded up the spinning reel with a broken handle. Thought of
trolling for stripers, but having to much fun. Was really a test for the
boat. Had replaced U-joints and moved the motor forward 1.5" For a little
better clearance and changed the impeller in the T8 after 8 years. All ran
good.

Bill, on the frogs...have you tried tying a trailer hook out the legs?
Kinda complicated, but gives you a much better hook up ratio working the
frog. It involves turning the frog inside out and threading the lines
out the back legs with a large needle...tie the trailer hook on, then
pull the line so the trailer hook is almost inside the leg, and tie it
to the main hook eye.

Anyway, just a thought...and maybe you already do that.
