NEWS UPDATE

WASHINGTON, DC. (Rueters) --
The Smithsonian official who was
viciously attacked by piranha -- or
should it be piranhi? -- earlier this
week will reveal the horror on Larry
King Live tonight (CNN, 9 p.m.).
Dr. G. Wayne Clough, who ws
enjoying a dip in the Smithsonian's
executive indoor swimming pool
Monday afternoon when the bloody,
ugly incident occurred, was released
from the hospital this morning. He
was covered with band-aids.
"Whew! I wouldn't want to go
through that again," the new
Smithsonian Secretary told reporters
from the Washington Post and
Anglers Magazine.."There, for
a moment, I honestly thought,
if I live, I'll be singing Alto."
Police and security officers are still
trying to apprehend the demented
person who placed a dozen pirhana
in the pool, causing quite a bit of
excitement on a rather boring day
in the natiion's capitol.
Larry King will devote a half-hour
to Clough and his brush with death,
then devote 15 minutes each to
authors of books on piranha. The
books are entitled, "Never Invite
a Piranha to Dinner," and "How to
Train Your Pet Piranha NOT
to Eat You."
Pope Benedict's scheduled
exclusive interview with Larry King
was postponed and will be telecast
Friday night.
