go fishing in lake drummond, great dismal swamp

The Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, (in Suffolk and
Chesapeake Virginia USA as well as N.E. North Carolina USA), the
beautiful and mysterious Lake Drummond, and The Historic Dismal Swamp
Canal has something to offer everyone who loves the outdoors.

The "Refuge" has many nature trails for hikers, cyclists, bird watchers
and hunters (in season) to enjoy. Lake Drummond is a unique first time
experience for folks who kayak, canoe, fish, or have small power boats
(10 hp motor max). you have to see it to believe it. Campers can
overnight at the campground of the Army Corps of Engineers park at the
lake flood locks. shelters, grills, limited electric, and bathrooms are
available. be sure to bring your own drinking water though. part of the
intra coastal waterway, the Historic Dismal Swamp Canal carries you
from metropolitan Tidewater Virginia southward thru swamp forest and
past some of the most beautiful small towns on the east coast.

Know before you go... visit "The Great Dismal Swamp and Lake Drummond
Traders" website ( http://www.dismalswamptraders.com/ ). here you will
find news, current events, history, stories, photography, art,
resources and information that may not be available anywhere else. also
check realtime weather and water levels at the canal and lake.
See you in the "Swamp"...

your subject line mentioned fishing, but your post said nothing of
fishing. i thought you might know something about the fishing since you
posted your web site info on this fishing newsgroup. i live in eastern
nc, and though i've never been there, i'd always heard lake drummond was
too acidic for bass or other worthwhile fishing... we've got plenty of
beautiful acidic lakes and pocosin swamps down here to paddle around and
photograph. from the photos on your website, drummond looks to be an
interesting spot, but not any better than, or even as good as, nc's new
lake or lake mattamuskeet as far as scenery. mattamuskeet is probably
superior in scenery and fishing. you should post your drummond stuff in
a canoe or kayak newsgroup. the photos on your website were interesting
though...thanks.
