cool Italian fly
An extended body mayfly tied with a single clump of CDC.

Sorry the text is in Italian, but the picture and the illustrated tying instructions give a pretty clear idea. The text mentions the obvious problem of finding CDC barbules long enough to tie it in larger sizes. The version at the bottom is tied with "opossum or seal" fur, but it might be fun to try it with snowshoe hare. Anyone here ever seen this sort of fly before, or fished it? JR |
