Hey group,

I'm an extremely new rookie to fishing and as sillie as this sounds, i have
no idea how to get a new line on to the reel. Do you have to buy a little
machine that winds the line around or what? Yes, ive tried it by hand and it
just didn't work (if this is the method of doing it, ugh.. that sucks..lol)

Go to your local fishing shop and have them put it on for you. It will cost
about $ 6.00 plus line

Ok Firas,
If you are loading monofilament line on an open faced spinning reel (most
common reel) you probably have noticed that every time you crank the handle
the bail goes around the spool and deposits line on the spool. However,
every time the bail makes a turn, the line gets twisted. Eventually, it
ends up a mess. What to do is put the reel on the fishing rod, thread the
line through all the guides, tie the line to the spool of the reel and put
the spool of line on the floor so the line spools off from the end of the
spool. When you see some coils starting to developpe on the line between
the rod tip and the spool of line, turn the spool of line ont its other side
so the line will spool off in the opposite direction. You will notice that
the twisting of the line will occur more rapidely on one side that the other
so change the spool position accordingly. You can also buy and install the
machine on your rod that eliminates all the twisting of the line. Never put
the spool of line on a shaft so that the spool revolves with the line coming
straight off it. The only time you should do that is with "level wind"
reels.

If you have a Cabelas or Bass Pro or any of the other major players they
will do it for 1-3 cents a foot. Joe Z.
