Sad Day
 

Running in Saturday afternoon after a good day on the water we were greated
by rain and very choppy water created from constant pleasure boat traffic.
Now usually it is not a problem seeing the wakes created by those boats but
the combination of gray skies, along with the rain in my eyes and about
60mph ( I know , slow down) I didn't see a wake that was created by 2 boats
crossing and hit it wide open we ended only turning about 10 degrees but it
was enough to launch 2 of my baitcasters overboard. One we found floating
(thank god graphite is so light ) and the other (a Lamiglass rod I tied up
with a 100B baby bantam) could not be recovered :-(. That is about a $230
lesson I learned.. SLOW DOWN!

You know the only reason I don't have these on my boat?

I'm not brave enough to start hacking up my fiberglass! Now, if someone else
would do it for me... and I didn't have to watch... that would be alot
easier. LOL

When I was still a young, single man, I had a 71 Chevrolet Cheyenne truck
that was my pride and joy. My roommate at that time worked in the upholstery
business and suggested that we install a sunroof. All it would cost me was
the price of the sunroof and lunch! Ten seconds of watching him drive a
chisel through the top of my truck was all I could stand! I left and didn't
come back into it was all over.

I know with these buckles you can use the little attachment thing, but flush
mount look like the way to go. I'm sure I'd stump a toe and fall overboard,
eventually.
