What does your club do to promote sponsors?
Seriously, as a busines owner I get hit up all the time by people who want
money. I was really impressed with the effort put forth recently by ABA to promote their sponsors. Not by the sponosrs, but by the local director. All of the main sponsors names are posted prominantly at the sign in, and during the awards refference was made to them at every reasonable opportunity. In addition Dave talked to me about some other ideas he has to promote fishing and some of the sponsors by having, "pro days," at the place of business for some of the sponsors. Basically, guys who have caught a few nice fish come out and park their boat and truck out by the business and talk with anybody who has a question or two. I don't know how many of the guys have volunteered to do it, but I know of atleast three or four. I know it sounds all commercial, but think about it. Why would a business agree to sponsor a club or tournament if not for the exposure? -- Bob La Londe Yuma, Az http://www.YumaBassMan.com Promote Your Fishing, Boating, or Guide Site for Free Simply add it to our index page. ABA does place text of a company name but no links to websites other
than the bigger corp. sponsors. I would jump all over sponsoring ABA if they posted links from the division web pages for the sponsors. The no link policy is weak on the part of ABA. they would get more local sponsorships if they did post links for the small local businesses that already sponsor them then I would jump on board in a HUGE WAY! But.....they don't gil "Bob La Londe" wrote in message ... Seriously, as a busines owner I get hit up all the time by people who want money. I think I'll forward your comments to Dave, and see if he can do anything as

If the sponsors don't get a pay back, the money will disappear....In my
opinion, you promote when ever the opportunity offers the chance to help the sponsors! Just do it with class and "honesty" is all! JK |
