BEST LOOP KNOT FOR FLUOROCARBON Leader?

From pull testing with a scale, I have found that the Palomar knot is as
strong
as any knot when first tied. After a few hard (fish) pulls the Palomar knot
tends to weaken and break.

Cliff

Any knot that uses a double wrap around what ever it's being tied to
is going to be at the very least 50% stronger that a single wrap knot.

Yes, It's stress (force per unit area) that breaks things, not just force. If
you wrap the line around a few times, you can spread the force over a
larger area and reduce the stress.

However, I'm guessing that some knots "pinch up" after use more than others,
and create stress concentrations that break the line.
