I, for one, am gawdamn glad to see someone post to roff who doesn't
believe in wasting a lot of space with useless words defining where they
fish, how they fish, what price range they want, etc. Everyone already
knows that the same waders you wear at the Equator will work equally
well at the North Pole, but those bandit fly shop owners just see a
sucker coming and visualize the dollars rolling in.

Just buy the cheapest rubber waders you can find at Wal-Mart.

Whatever model of Simms you can afford from whoever carries them.

Personally, I really like my Simms Freestone waders, but I wouldn't
recommend them to someone who does a lot of stalking on their knees from
the bank of a river, or fishes mainly in sal****er, even if that were
all they could afford.

While at the 2000 San Juan Clave, I was impressed with Charlie Wilson's
Patagonia waders. I bought a pair and have been very pleased with them for the
past four years. If I didn't know better, I'd swear they were made of steel.
The features I like best, besides their toughness, are the built in gravel
guards, the easy way they pull down to take a leak, and the fact that they
extend all the way to my armpits *if needed*. A little on the pricey side,
however.

Tom,

I would look at the Simms breathable waders.

They run $149, $199, $329 and $429 USD.

All good values and made in MT.

Getting a good fit is as important as anything. They also do custom sizing.

I loved my Patagonia's except for the neoprene booties. The black flet
comes off easily and they soon start leaking. I have been told that
Patagoia will come out with a new model this year that will improve the
booties. Another "problem" with them is that they are so breathable, that
you are often cold; I swear that I have a leak and will be all wet when I
take them off, but find myself dry.
