Old Shimano needs servicing

I have a Bantam Mag Plus Model BMP 251X SG. I believe this is the left hand
retrieve version of the 250X SG.

I have had it for over 15 years. It has performed flawlessly but it now has
quite a bit of play in it. Do you think I can have this reel overhauled,
and if so, what do you think it would cost?

Also, what would be the modern day equivalent of this reel?

Thanks.

I have a old Batam 250, great reel for it's time but I do like the
instant ant-ireverse the modern reels have much better..I bet a re-build
would cost at least 40 bucks, I guess it just depends how much you like
the reel.. Shimano brought the 250 out in the 70's and then again in the
80's, I had both, the 70's model was a better built reel, more bronze
less plastic..

I fish therefore I lie

Now that I think about it, maybe that "play" is the lack of the automatic
anti-reverse that I become accustom to since the old days. Maybe it was
always like that. I bet that old reel is in pretty good shape. It would
be worth 40 bucks for the sentimentality.

Thanks for the input.
