Oh, I guarantee he's envious of anything that doesn't resemble his own pathetic life.

Vikings? Schreiber? Hm...........

My mother was a Schreiber.....from a little town called Niederndorf, near
Siegen, in Westphalen. My father was Prussian. As an officer in a time
when ancestry was deemed to matter, he was thoroughly vetted by the
Luftwaffe (or so the story goes) and discovered that he was descended from a
Viking prince or something. Frankly, he didn't look the part and I've
always suspected that the story of my own birth in Niederndorf was concocted
to hide the fact that I was kidnapped at birth (or shortly thereafter......I
was very young.....it's all pretty hazy) by German peasants.

I can hardly be the only person who was struck, at the Penn's clave last
spring, by the uncanny resemblance (anticipated, somehow, by Michael Moore,
of all people) between Roger and Me.

Wolfgang
we are cousins, perhaps? :)

I don't envy noodling of any stripe, whether it's the European
sissy-boy version with waders, trout and pinky extended or the
Bubba variety with catfish, blood and chewin' tabaky. All of it
seems more than a little kooky to me. Give me a fly rod any day.
