Montauk Sportfishing Report 12/10/04

12/9/04

As they say, it's all over, but for the shouting. But the shouting is still
pretty strong coming from the few boats still fishing. It seems like the
bass are never going to leave, and the fishing is about as steady as you can
get. Most of the boats are stopping just outside the Inlet to load up on
herring & mackerel for bait and then motoring east to look for the birds.
Once they find the birds, the action is non stop with teen into twenty pound
bass. There are still a couple of boats fishing if you want to catch a bunch
of bass, so if you want to give it a shot, give me a call.

All the tournaments ran through November and the finals are as follows;

This is the last report that I will be posting until next year. If anything
executing happens over the winter, I'll let you know. Otherwise don't expect
to hear much from me until the Spring. Have a great holiday season, and talk
to you then.

I almost forgot the commercial. If you're getting depressed about the next
couple of months when you will be unable to fish, I've got a deal for you.
There's great fishing throughout Central America for just about any type of
fishing that you like, and it's not that expensive. Guatemala, Costa Rica
and Panama have great billfishing, along with inshore exotics like
roosterfish and snapper. Tarpon are plentiful on Costa Rica's Caribbean
coast, and Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula have super light tackle action.
Check out http://www.tropicalfishing.com/tropical.htm for more information,
or give me a call, and we'll BS a bit about the various locations where I
can set you up with the fishing trip of a lifetime - and no snow!

If you would like to have these reports sent to you directly, just drop me a
note at . And for more information about
fishing in Montauk, you can give me a call at 800 280 5565 or check out
