Aluminum fishing boats
Greetings: Sorry if this is repetitious but I have decided to buy an
aluminum rig for a big lake here in NJ. I had a Tracker Pro175 a couple of years ago and it was fine, but the 25HP recommended was not enough. I live near a Lund dealer and a Lowe dealer. Would appreciate any advice based on your experience. Also, there is one available near me that is 16', a Polar Kraft, used only once, but the guy had a 9.9 put on for the local resevoir that harbors some huge muskys. He said (of course) that the 9.9 (4 st.) really hummed. Not too sure. Really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks guys. Jack. |

I would guess the hum would be about 15 mph with 1 person aboard. My 14' 180# boat with a 15 Mariner would make about 22 with just me at 240# aboard. with another 250# guy would make about 18. What does the motor plate on the boat say? Bill |

My 16' Waco (or Whacko if you prefer) is rated for a 50Hp outboard with the
console and 20" transom. Without it is rated fro 35HP. I imagine that 35 would be a minimum for a happy cruising speed, after I get my decks and lockers installed. "JackTr" wrote in message om... I got a 15" with console and a 40HP Yamaha 2 stroke and it moves. You can get just about any set-up you want. It is a real solid boat in my opion. Mike |

I have a Lund 165 bass with a 40 horse yamaha four stoke on it. I love
the boat. With my wife and I along with a bunch of fishing gear with us, it will run about 32mph WOT. This is plenty fast for me.It moves along real good about about 20-25 miles per hour.We use our lund on the currituck sound in NC. It can get very rough ( 3 foot chop) and the boat handles very good. And with the four stroke, 6 gallons of gas will last all day and then some. The lund also does not have any wood in it ( a big plus). One thing that I did not like about the lund was it did not come with guages. I had to install them aftermarket. But the yamaha guage i got is a very nice setup. It tells you all you need to know in one large digital display. Brett |

I have a 16' 2" Sea Nymph sitting in my driveway for sale just on the other
side of Philadelphia from Jersey. It's rated for 40 hp, but currently only has a 15hp Evenrude (engine cover says 9.9) and a MinnKota electric. Lot's of extras, rigged for bass fishing. Beautiful like-new condition. Let me know if you are interested, I'll send you some pictures and call you. I believe Sea Nymph was purchased by Lund, not sure how that worked. Reply to the group or fix my email address before you send if off-line. Thanks, Rick "JackTr" wrote in message om...
