Display Case for Lures???

Howdy, I'm a regular at rec.woodworking, but this is my first post here.
I'm trying to build a Christmas present for my Brother-in-law's fishing lure
collection (or at least some of them) and I'm not sure what I want. I'm not
a fisherman, sorry, but I am good at building things with wood. I was
thinking of a wooden case with several 2-3 inch shelves for the lures to set
on, but is there a "standard" way of displaying old lures? Any suggestions,
favorite methods, or pictures of examples I could look at would be greatly
appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Display Case for Lures???

Take a look at some of the cases available for carrying lures in the field.
There are some that will hold the rear hook of a lure between two pieces of
heavy foam. Another might be a simple felt covered board with pre drilled
holes. Then supply a bunch of pipe cleaner to holde the lures.

Go to the store and by a few lures. Then think about how you would display
them for maximum beauty. Ideally I think the full side of the lure should
be viewed unobstructed with the hooks all dangling freely.

Maybe a board with pins sticking out that the lure could rest on?
