Hey Guys,
I'm looking to purchase a new or used Mercury Laser II Prop, 23P for a small hub. George George Bucks County, PA a href="http://www.911bassanglers.com911 Bass Anglers/a a href="http://www.outdoorfrontiers.comOutdoor Frontiers/a a href="http://www.nmnp.orgNew Media For Non Profits/a |
George,
Why the lazer prop? I have yet to find anything that prop runs good on. Give me your current setup, there are better choices. "George" wrote in message ... Boat: 03 Skeeter SX180 Motor: 03 Yamaha 130 Prop: Yamaha SS 21P Jackplate: 7" Hydro Dynamics E-Z Lift She currently runs 55.5 MPH (GPS) between 5800 & 6000 RPM's, depending on the load. I'm thinking with a bigger wheel/pitch and raising the plate more, I can get 1-2 MPH her. Honestly, I don't see why I can't approach 60, but maybe that's not realistic. Hook it up behind my GMC and I'll get it up to 75 m.p.h

George,
You MIGHT gain one mph, if that. When you increase prop pitch, you'll lose 200 rpm for each inch increase. Do the calculations, and going two more iches, you'll gain one mph. For the loss of holeshot and load carrying, that's a decision that might need some further pondering. The lazer II is one of my least favorite props, it is horrible at carrying a load, and just is less than acceptable in performance. Not meaning to bust your bubble, that motor just won't go much more than you're getting from it. It's very reliable, and very smooth, it just lacks in the fire-breathing department. I guess you should have put that 150 on it? "George" wrote in message ... Give me your current setup, there are better choices.
