New Rod for Wayne?

Don't miss your chance. There is (supposedly) only one like it.

and I bet the owner is wishing he hadn't busted the tip in the trunk hinge
of his Benz!

I'm not sure if I'd pay $3000 for an Orvis rod if Jesus fished with it.

And the real shocker is... no one else wanted to either!

Maybe the owner didn't put enough emphasis on "rare"?

Thank you for thinking of me Jim. Even if I had an interest in it, the
owner has an emotional value on the rod that does not match the market
value. While Orvis sells a decent bamboo stick, I never have been a fan
of impregnated bamboo and rarely think they should receive a premium. I
have cane rods from Wintson and T&T bought before their prices hit the
$2K level and would not even consider one of them now that they get $3K
for one.

If I want a Lee Wulff inspired fly rods, I'll buy one direct from the
Wulff clan, I believe they are asking something significantly less.

Just proves it, BMW's have special hinges which do not attract cane rod
tips.

When you get right down to it, in most things in life, there's nothing
exactly like most things in life.

You could have had this one for $900.

You just don't appreciate the transcendent qualities of a fine cane rod. :-)

It isn't a great deal at nine bones. I picked one up about five years
ago for $350 (without the CFOIII, which goes for about $125 used). Mine
probably hasn't been out of the tube in past four years, and if it is the
best rod that guy ever fished with, I'd say it must be the only rod he ever
fished with.
