Mid-Tenn Update
If you are planning on joining us at Center Hill this year for the 2005
R.O.F.B. Mid-Tenn Classic, be sure to visit our web-site: http://www.midtennclassic.org and sign up using the form. April is getting close and a few of you are already wanting to start the trash talk. Me... I'll stay out of it for a little while longer. Besides, I can just use my ole' fishing prowlness to show you guys wrong. LOL Currently on the roster, we have 9 people signed up as boaters, and 11 people signed up as non-boaters. It's still too early to consider this a problem, so I know we have time to find another boater or two. Dave "The Rodmaker" Norton informed me that he is going to be unable to make this tournament and wanted me to let you know that he'll still be there, if only in spirit. We do have his uncle "Papa John" joining us again as weigh master since we can't rely on any of ourselves to honestly keep up with the weights! LOL. I appreciate his help again this year. I talked to Jerry today and he's ready to come on down and show us what fish look like. He's gotten his reels back from Fishermans Blessing after having them cleaned, and even had new bearings installed. I just hope he has time to get use to them again before getting down here. If not, I hope he brings alot of extra fishing line after he has to pick out all of those "professional overruns". I think Jerry's even been getting some inside information from Mr. Beck as well. Warren might end up with a little more competition this year! Joe "TNBass" is also planning on running over to the Secret Weapon plant in Missouri next weekend and asked that I get him a list of baits for you guys. His offer still stands for the Mini Kits in any color or size at the Pro-Staff pricing, so let me know if you need anything. Joe is also going to be on Fishing University with Charlie Ingram this weekend (Sunday). If you've never met Joe face to face, you really need to try to see this! LOL. Joe is one of the most honest, well versed person that I've ever met... until you get him on a boat. Maybe its' that the two of us have spent alot of time together or he's already given up on teaching me anything... but there's a difference there. Anyway, the show airs on Sunday at 7:30am central, and repeats on Friday at noon... I think. I'll continue to do what I can as far as collecting gifts, but so far I've hit alot of dead ends. Steve Huber is still building us a Huber Custom Rod to be awarded to one lucky person, RichZ and Lunker City has promised donations, as well as a few others here. I'm going to work on some more places to see what happens, but whatever happens... happens. You just can't compare any of this to the great times and friendships these events generate anyway! I think I've rambled long enough... but I'm just trying to get to spring, and all I can do right now is think about fishing. (sigh) April is just around the corner, so I think I'll make it. Thanks, Charles |

Man, that's too bad. Is everything ok with him?
Jerry called me again last night too, saying that he's going to go visit with Ranger Fishing Nets to see if they'll make another donation. They donated to the Southern Classic last year, if y'all remember... and I was lucky enough to have received one, and able to repplace that little trout net that I'd been using! I'm thinking hard about going this year.

Well Harry is still up on the fence, and without him splitting the drive and
expense, I might have to bail also. Maybe a little encouragement from ROFB might get him to put his pants back on. If he does not go, I might have an alternative plan in getting my nephew to share the drive. Either way Dave V and I will be donating a care package. Some great stuff from Strike King,CreekChub,Eagle Claw,Shimano,Poes,Yozuri,Berkely and maybe a few more. Just one of the perks from going to one of these classics is the packages and stuff that's handed out Randy- Richard R. wrote in message ... I'm thinking hard about going this year. You really need to try join man... I don't think I've heard of anyone
complaining about the trips. Lack of fish maybe... but not the fun. Richard R. wrote in message ... I'm thinking hard about going this year. Who wants to share a room? |
Hey now... it just wouldn't be the same without you two guys! It took about
six months for my sides to quit hurting from all the laughing you had me doing on Okeechobee! "alwaysfishking" wrote in message ...
