Jerkbaits -- both soft and hard -- will catch the snot out of snook, tarpon
and ladyfish. Light jigheads with shad bodies (3 to 3-1/2" on a 1/8 to 1/4
oz head) are also popular, especially for what they call speckled trout
down there, which are actually spotted weakfish.
