Been having fun...tying and all!

Well, havn't had as much time to tie as I would like to but it's been fun so
far. Tied about a dozen or so of the ez-nymph, got some loose wool from my
Mom (since she spins the stuff). It's not grease wool but ties pretty
easily...I don't know if I would be to into tying greasy feeling flies...I
know that it helps with the boyancy of the fly but i'll explore that one
later on down the road. I haven't started to dye any of the wool, due to not
knowing what to use to die it (koolaid i've heard) but other than that.
I just let my creativity go and tied a few different patterns (not per any
specific pattern) using some black/olive chinelle, marabou and some olive
hackle along with the wool too. A few different variations but I'm beginning
to understand the pride that comes with it when my wife and daughters throw
out a "wow!" here and there...Hopefully sometime i'll be able to get the
pics of some of the firsts that I tied and get em up on here so I can be
picked apart on my use of materials...heh...

A friend offered to hook me up with some different furs that his uncle has.
He said his uncle is a Furrier so i'm looking forward to getting some good
free materials to tie with. My Bro in law also is giving me some loose deer
hair, don't know how useable it'll be but i'll see what I can do with it.
Woo hoo!

Hello Anthony -

I can remember your first post where you were seeking advice on fly
tying kits. Seems you have come a long way! Good for you! Another
thrill you have to look forward to is catching fish on a fly you
created, particularly the flies you designed without any particular
recipe.

Keep posting. I enjoy your enthusiastic approach.
