Question about Endura 30 speed control

I got a used one of these on ebay. Overall it seems in good
shape but I noticed when when going to the 5th speed it doesnt
"lock" into place like the other positions do. I just have to
keep twisting until it doesn't go any further. Not only that
but sometimes it never quite gets into 5th speed and I have to
back off then then twist it with a bit of extra force to get
it to switch over.

Does this sound normal for these units and if not is there any
way to adjust the action. It's not a huge deal I'm just curious.

Hi Jesse,

It sounds like the speed switch is worn a bit. It shouldn't be a big deal
to replace it. Check on their website for a repair center near you and see
if you can get the switch. Or, learn to live with 4 speed settings.

I have the same one and it positively locks into place, no problems... but
then again mine's only about 6 months old.

Thanks guys. I'm kicking myself for getting this as i only saved about
$20 off the normal price, should have just got a new one.

a pretty good deal.

Outdoor World has them now for $94, I paid about $65 for mine plus
shipping.

Anyways just took it on its maiden voyage today and it ran fine. I was
afraid I wouldn't know if the 5th speed was working and always
wondering if I was missing it. But turns out 5th speed on these things
is quite a bit faster than 4th so it was obvious that I had it twisted
far enough.
