New User - Crank Bait Set Up
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this Newsgroup as well as using Newsgroups to post questions. I've been following the posts on this group with great interest and there appears to be a substantial knowledge base among y'all. I've been out of bass fishing for several years and have lost contact with the technology and equipment but I would like to buy a set up for light crankbaits, light spinner baits, and light top water. I'm leaning towards a Bass Pro Shops Extreme Baitcast Reel (6.3:1 retrieve) with a Bass Pro Shops 'Crankin' Stick Trigger Rod (6' M). My budget is very limited and this seems to be a good choice. I would appreciate any comments (positive or negative) about this set up. I am not familiar with BPS reels or rods and would appreciate any insight on durability. I have Lew's and Daiwa bait casting, so I am used to used to using bait casters. Thanks in advance. -- Mike |

I have a BPS extreme baitcaster in my arsenal and it's a good reel for
the money. Personally I prefer a mh rod but I fish in a lot of "slop" |
