Something to fill those long, slow, tedous moments of dreadful silence

I mean, sometimes we go DAYS without a line to leader connection
thread.........what's a boy to do? :(

What few of you still read this crap may remember that I made mention of
Project Gutenberg about a week or two ago, in response to Cyli's question
about where she might find some Norse eddas......or some such mind-numbingly
arcane and boring stuff.

Project Gutenberg has put thousands of classic (few of them instant, I'm
afraid to report) and not so classic works out there on the ether for anyone
to pick up and devour free of charge.......that's right, boys and girls, a
genuine FREE (Heinlein be damned) lunch!!

So, when I first discovered this jewel in the rough a few years ago I
thought this was a marvelous idea. Even better, they informed me that if I
wanted to, I could type up the text of any book I wanted (subject to
copyright constraints [sorry, Kennie, Stevie] of course) and send it off to
them to be added to their list. I did that very thing.......um.....well,
almost. I spent a couple of weeks copying John Muir's "The Story of My
Boyhood and Youth"......and then spent a couple more trying to figure out
how to send the damned thing to them. Directions on their website were
written in a language entirely unfamiliar to me. Emails got no response.
"**** it," sez I, and gave up.

And then......just last week.....I found THIS!:

HUZZAH!

Whattya say.......all you kids with too much time on your hands (and we know
who you are......we've been here for years), why not try your hand at
leaving something for posterity?

Wolfgang
who would be truly delighted to know if anyone decides to participate.

I'd love to. Really I would. But I already keep so busy proofreading ROFF!
