El-Cheapo Digital Camera Recommendation?

Clumsy ******* that I am, I refuse to take my wife's
god-awful-expensive digital camera out on one of my fishing
expeditions.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive (like under $120) digital camera I
could buy just to stick in my vest and not freak out if I dropped it
into the river?

Thanks.

I find the Nikon Coolpix 2100 or 2200 just the ticket for that sort of
thing, small, pocket-friendly and it takes great pictures. I got both of
mine on Ebay, one for under a hundred bucks, the other about $110. I bought
a waterproof bag for about 25 bucks as further insurance against my
penchant for taking a dip now and then. You could do worse for the money.

I'm eyeing the Pentax Optio WP. $350 and waterproof for up to 30 minutes
of submersion. Maybe ...

I would have bought one of those if it didn't require a nonstandard battery.

Cut "to the chase" for my email address.

Does look like a very nice gizmo, but I don't like the tendency these days
to produce P&S digitals without optical viewfinders. The monitors are OK
indoors and on overcast days, but most don't cut it outdoors in the sun.

Or, you could do what Frank Reid did and buy a good one that is water
proof. He had a post here awhile back on his new toy. Popular opinion
was for him to dunk it to verify that it's water proof BEFORE the
warrantee expires.
