Lake Okeechobee Information
As luck would have it, someone sent me an article about Lake Okeechobee, and
the effect that last years hurricanes did to the lake. This should back up what Ronnie was saying and most likely rule out Lake Okeechobee as a location for next years Mid-Tenn Classic. I've scanned the article in as a JPEG (for now) and posted a link to it on the Mid-Tenn Classic site. http://www.midtennclassic.org/Okee2.jpg -- www.secretweaponlures.com www.outdoorfrontiers.com |
Wow! That is a shame, not only for the lake but the folks who rely on it for
income and their livelihood. "Charles B. Summers" wrote in message ... Charles, don't believe everything you read or hear. Okeechobee is still
producing outstanding fish both in quanity and quality. Past 2 weekends it took 30 plus pounds to win 2 local tournaments. The nay sayers have been crying doom for 20 years now. Like all lakes, if we leave mother nature alone, she will take care of herself. The lake was there long before you and I and will be there long after. Okeechobee goes through 10 year cycles and may be on the backside of one now, but I promise you --- on her worse days will bring a smile to your face. It may not be as easy now to locate the fish for some fishermen, with the loss of some grass but, believe me, they are still there. Charles B. Thanks Moe... and it's good to hear you're still with us, even if just
lurking in the background. Think you can get us some reliable information? Or at least a source? "Moe" wrote in message oups.com... Charles, don't believe everything you read or hear.
