(My initial post was under another fella's screenname, lol...)

Does a great day on the water & a terrible day on the water = two fair days
on the water?

HELL NO!

Just got back on from the NJ BASS Federation Top 6 Tourney on the Potomac.
Most of you guys know that my club's team won this event last year.

I got on some great fish on Monday in practice, and despite my efforts the
next two days I couldn't come up with anything better to keep me from
running some 25 miles north from the launch site into Washington DC.

Thursday I had a great first day with those fish & was in first place at
day's end with 15.46 pounds (5 fish). There were about 230 guys in this
tourney, most of whom weighed in 0,1 or 2 fish on Thursday. I caught 9
keepers & had no reason to believe I couldn't repeat the performance on day
2 & make the State Team, if not win the tournament.

Ha.

On Day two I go to my area & in pulls the guy I had in the back of my boat
on Day 1. Somehow he got to be a boater on Day 2, and apparently I told him
he was welcome to share the waters with me. I figured he'd be in someone
else's boat on the slim chance that he would show up, lol. I was even nice
enough to let him use my lure on day 1 when I had him 4-1 in the keeper dept
(15" min), and even nicer to let him keep it.

So to make a long story short he catches a 6+ & a 5+ right next to me to
start the day, weighs in 18+ & wins the tournament.

Me? Ha! I have a hard time getting bit at all, but do manage about 1/2 dozen
14" dinks, a few unbuttoned keepers, and 1 3.84# keeper. With about 1.5
hours left till weigh-in I decide it's futile & leave to try another spot.
That's when I hit the rock & wasted my prop & skeg, even bent the prop
shaft. So I took the windy & rough 25 mile "run" back to the ramp on two
good blades & a very shaky engine.

Made it just in time to weigh-in my 1 keeper.

I took 7th overall. Not bad you say? Awful, when you consider that 6th
makes the State Team, & gets $500 (enough to cover my deductible lol).

Oh well, gotta go call the insurance company.

Are the MTC results anywhere, either nobody posted them on ROFB or I can't
see them...

Hope y'all had fun!

Warren
