Power pro vs Stren Super Braid
I've been happy with Power pro but my buddy tells me Stren is far superior.
any opinions will be appreciated. Jim L |
I have some time fishing both.
The Power Pro is good stuff, but the Stren Super Braid stays rounder. It also has a coating that seems to flow through the eyes better and quieter. I pretty much fish the Stren for everything in one size or another except for ultra clear water, and topwater. |

Spooled up some Superbraid and never looked back. It's extremely smoothe and doesnt cut into itself the way Fireline did. Never used PowerPro, so can't compare that. Dave V |
Out of the 3 I like the Stren the best, stays colored much longer and
doesn't fray as easy as the other two. Lasts a lot longer. Now if I was just fishing Lilly Pads all day, I would have to go with the fireline. It cuts through pads better than any other line I have tied on "david" wrote in message news:tZeie.8149$KQ6.7149@trndny02... Dave V Randy, How is the castability on a baitcaster? I am thinking of trying it on one of the new reels I bought. I am guessing it is as good as if not better than PowerPro???? Also, what is the lightest they make? I think Power Pro has a 2/10 version. Thanks Chris |
I'm not sure about the lightest line they make. I use 30 lb braid fishing
in all sorts of sticks, stumps, rocks and brush and never have a problem with it. No castability issues at all it's very smooth compared with the fireline and power pro "Chris Rennert" wrote in message . .. alwaysfishking wrote: Out of the 3 I like the Stren the best, stays colored much longer and doesn't fray as easy as the other two. S-wire is still my favorite. Like Randy I use 30lb in the slop on a
baitcaster. |
