Chest Waders with BIG Feet!

Hello,

I'm trying to find a sock style chest wader that's will fit a size 15
foot. I'm 6'3", 215lb, with a 48" chest, 36" inseam and 38" waist.
The only ones I found (I can't remember which they were when searching
on line), that could support a size 15 foot, seemed to be geared for
someone who was otherwise about 300lb. Anyone have any ideas, or am I
going to have to get them custom made?

Thanks,
John Friesen

You're SOL. My problems with waders a I have feet too wide (EEEE) and
legs too short (I'm 5"11" but my inseam is only 28" - my height is mostly in
my headg). I end up with booties that are 2" too long *(and still tight)
and legs with 6" of excess material.

I've toyed with the idea of custom waders, but it's pretty expensive . It
sounds to me like all you need is a custom bootie so maybe it wouldn't be so
bad. If you have any dive shops around, maybe you can get them to do a
bootie modification for you (the one near me does neoprene repairs).

That's sort of what I was afraid of. I'll look into possibly just
getting the booties modifed. Thanks for the suggestion!

Neoprene modification is fairly easy. Did a lot of that when I was a
teenage surfer dude (buy garage sale wetsuits and turn into Summer suits for
surfing in cold California waters). You can find a lot online with a google
search. Then again, a dive shop alteration may come with a warranty.
Figure any changes you do to the original waders will void all warranties.

I think that Simms will make you a custom wader for about '6 kagillion'
dollars that will fit you.

I think that you are an XL with the biggest neoprene foot they make,
seriously. ~$500USD

Now where do you get a size 16 wading boot? ..............seriously.

considering the expenses overall, I think you'd do better and save money in
the long run by having surgery....

.. . . and who better to recommend lopping off a few unwanted inches?
