droppers for Penn's

Plan to pretie a few droppers onto larger flies that i can see before
leaving home.
Suggestion for tippett size and which fly combinations you would suggest
would be appreciated
If you see me handling small cans along stream--that is not my snuff- just
35mm film cans i use to hold pretied combinations.

Tom,

Not sure if any clavers will have net access but if they do I'd appreciate
ya'll posting what's hatching. I'm going up Monday fishing for a couple of
days with the b-i-l, probably to Tionesta and with luck east to Kettle & Young
Womans. Tight schedule and nothings's decided yet so if the Penn Drakes are
coming off in good numbers...well...

Joe, here are the flies currently recommended for Penns Creek by
Flyfishers Paradise:

Recommended surface flies:

* March Brown, #10-12
* March Brown Spinner, #12
* Sulphur, #14
* Sulphur Spinner, #14
* Tan Caddis, #14-16
* Yellow, orange Crane fly, #16-18

Recommended subsurface flies:

* March Brown Nymph and Emerger, #10-12
* Dark Sulphur Nymph and Emerger, #12-14
* Stonefly Nymphs, #8-12
* Green Weenie, #10-14
* Partridge & Tan, #14-16

If you see me handling small cans along stream--that is not my snuff- just
35mm film cans i use to hold pretied combinations.

Good idea! I've started doing that too. Sure is easier at home under
a bright light.

See you there. vince

Have y'all tried the "weekly pill boxes" that drugstores give away (and
sell)? The ones to which I am referring are the type that have 7 small,
individually-lidded compartments and a small hang tab on one end.

You can call the Feathered Hook and Jonas I'm sure will give you the
correct scoop. He also updates Penns and other creek's conditions on
Thursdays...

Do you fish Kettle much?...haven't been there in quite some time, but here
it has come back well.

I like Tom's suggestion just fine. If you went to a nymph it would be of
the Sulphur variety also.

Hitting the hay..will wake up to a mad pack of the car, and dash to the C&R
stretch, talk to y'all when you get there, or when I return,

The Finn..

Last fished it around 1980 on a beer soaked sweep across the state so the
fishing mattered little - but it was legendary then. I was not aware it had
problems since. I probably should do some reading to see how streams have
fared over the years before deciding where to fish.

Good luck to you folks.

Bout the same for me...maybe we met and just don't remember...

Apparently it has had problem. I thought it fished well myself, but back in
the day I guess it was world class..supposed to be getting back to that
level is Bush's cabinet can keep their damn hands off of things..sorry for
the politics, I'm really not politically savy, except for the important
stuff..

Good luck to you folks.

Good Luck yourself on your expedition, I need to re-kindle that trail
myself.

Maybe we'll cross paths again. Stop in if you can. The big turn, tunnel,
and trestle area below the feathered Hook Fly Shop would be good to catch
some of the Roffians on Saturday night.

Walking out the door,

Mike
