An Albright knot is easier, but bulkier. I think the best system is a whipped loop in the flyline, combined with a large loop in the backing (tied with a Bimini Twist, for example). The backing loop should be large enough to pass the reel through. Then you can change flylines without retying. Do you really expect to get into the backing? :-) -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

I like using a nail knot for doing that, just like on the other end -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Mojo SpecTastic "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread, Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |
I think the best system is a loop flyline beatings, with the support of a large loop (marked Bimini twist, as example). Relying loop should be large enough, scroll through the passed. Then you can change the fly lines not retying.
