Did anyone notice
 

the cover art on Geirach's latest book? It's a spinning reel.

fI've not read it yet, I'm on a no book buy directive until after Daddy's
day.

Word on Westfly is that Geirach had a conniption when he saw it
(post-publication) and is insisting it be changed.

I don't read him anymore. Have many of his books gone more than one
hardback edition?

According to what I've read, the publisher put the reel in there just
before printing. Geirach was not pleased, especially since the original
art was just the rod.

An outrage that shocks the conscience! The publisher, the artist, their
families, and everyone they might now or have ever cared about should be
charged with a hanging offense. What good is the death penalty if it
can't be brought to bear for such serious offenses. I mean,
really...you see something like that, think the book must be the
greatest book on spin-fishing ever written, buy the book, and find out
that you've been completely screwed by a totally corrupt, criminal, and
unscrupulous publisher doing nothing more than trying to con gentle,
innocent folk.

Ok, ok, so maybe they shouldn't be tortured first, at least for more
than a few weeks, but really, a mere lethal injection is just, well,
letting them off easy.

Sheesh, and some people are whining and complaining about disease and
famine, slavery in the Sudan, unrest in the Middle East, and other
trivial things...to WHAT is this world coming?

Boy, am I with you. In fact, instead of reading anymore of ROFF or
posting about people posting about people posting about that cover, I'm
gonna get off my lazy ass and do something to make a difference!

Or maybe I'll just mow the lawn and have a colbeer instead.


Chuck Vance (who noticed the spinning reel as soon as he got his
copy and was wondering how that one slipped by)
