U never know now days the best and the cheapest place. In the long run it's almost always best to use your local tackleshop(s). P&P tends to soak up most of the on-line price difference and you have somewhere local responsible for any after-sales issues. Indeed. I bought my new beach rod mail order simply because I live a long way inland, and the local tackle shops can't justify stocking much of that sort of kit. I could probably have got them to order it in, but it's a bit cheeky to then expect them to match the online price. I did earlier buy a couple of the very cheap beach rods that they do stock. They get my trade in terminal tackle, and I suspect their margin on that is bigger than they'd have had on the rod. Otherwise, Mustad are making an absolute packet on a box of plastic beads! -- Steve Walker |

There are two good on-line outlets in my area (East Anglia) one has a difference of 20% (re on-line price to direct retail). The other seems to offer the on-line price to local regulars (maybe they both do) and represents one of my 'triangle' of _local_ tackle outlets. They are www.anglingdirect.co.uk and www.birdstackle.com When outlets work in this 'dual' mode (on-line & retail direct) I understand they normally operate each 'arm' as a separate businesses.
