Lost fish
Went out this morning with Scooba Steve and Tom the weekend warrior, no bites ecept for a few crappie and small bass on jigs. Saw a huge wake break out from the shoreline and cast a big jitterbug but it missed it's target by about 5 feet. Went back to fishing the other side where I was when Tom cast his Tiki stick over to the shoreline, next thing I know he has this monster fish on and I mean big, could well have been over 7 lbs, biggest fish I have seen on this lake in the 6+ years I have been here. He gets it to the boat and then the stupidity factor kicks in, in a swift motion he granbs the line and trys to lift this beast into the boat, snap. Fish gone. Now usually I don't get too upset about lost fish especially if they are someone else's, but this fish was magnificent and a fish like this will only come along once in a blue moon. Hated to see it get away especially when it was so close. |
What was he thinking? With a Tiki stick, a single hook is used and one would
think that fish could be easily lip-landed. It's not like it had a mouthful of trebles. ???? "alwaysfishking" wrote in message ... Yup, inexperience on the water and maybe a little itimidated by a big fish.
