"E. Carl Speros" wrote in message ... I am a rabid CW buff as well as a rabid SM Bass fisherman. I have a NSSA Nat'l Skirmish at Ft Shenandoah in may (I shoot for the Fighting 69th N.Y. (Irish Brigade), but I also have a friend in Berryville Va. who charters SM drift fishing trips on he Shenandoah R. We usual take a day (of a 5 day weekend), start out around A.M. & drift 8 miles or so down river in his awesome Clackacraft, catch lots of fiesty Smallies & the occasional channel cat up to 15 lb. There are Bald Eagles soaring overhead & the scenery is spectacular. Tom's wife Robin packs us a sumptuous lunch & she picks us up downstream at around 6 P.M. This week is ewin win proposition & Tom tell me if there had been too much rain to go & doesn't charge me. Our 2 nat'l skirmshes in may & oct. are thehigh points ov my year (except for the yearly fishing jaunt to Ontario the men n the family make in august. Can hardly wait.
