Newbie Here
I am a newbie....I just bought my first vise last week, and have
alreay tied a few flies, they don't look that great, but they did work this morning in the sal****er. I am looking for help in tying some good sal****er flies, mainly for flounder and other inshore fish. I also do a lot of offshore, but have yet to try flies for it...any help would be appreciated. Thanks.. Rusty |
Help? Dispose of all your tying gear and materials now.
There, I just helped save you form a lifetime of thrall to the vice. ;-) Steve |
Rusty,
Go to your local fly shop and buy some of the recommended ones and then tie up. My all time favorite for stripers, blues and albies is an all white clouser with plenty of pearl flash. Size to whatever you are fishing for. Don't forget to epoxy the head and color the head thread red before you epoxy. Bill M. |

Bill was "Right On". Something I always did was use clear tying thread. This way you can add glitter or whatever to the head, and still see the colors the fly was tied with. I found epoxy to work, then I tried Hard Head by Loon, less messy. Tight Lines Only, Brad "William McNulty" wrote in message news:DRWVe.4599$R9.3152@trnddc02...
