Line weight for a Wonderod?
 

A have an old Shakespeare Wonderod and need some help in determining what
line weight it was designed for. I know I can cast different lines on it
and see what works best but I'm limited to what lines I own. I'm hoping
someone might own one of these or would know by the model number.

The decals on it read "Shakespeare Wonderod, Made in U.S.A., Howald Process"
and "No. 1438-7'9" Model FCL". This is all that is printed on the rod.

I've seen a good number of Shakespeare Wonderods but never seen one this
color. Everyone I've seen were white but this one is fleshtone or you might
call it a salmon color.

Mine too, says the 'howald process' but the number is gone. It is white in
color. I bought it off e-bay after mine broke because I was committed to
having one in my collection after having learned/fished with one for so
long.

I think they are called Wonder Rods (tongue in cheek) because they don't
really cast any line all that well but 'will' cast damned near any line. I
used between 4 and 6 weight lines on mine before retiring it.

They are kind of neat aren't they?
