Here they a
1) Is there any way (for any brand) to figure out the production date from the package? Any way to tell if a line sitting on the shelf is "fresh"? 2) How does aging of the Yo-Zuri Hybrid compares to regular mono? (Is it safe to buy a spool that has been sitting there for more than a year?) TIA, Nikolay |

I don't know about every brand, but according to Berkley you can decipher their
code easily. It's located below the bar code on the spool and will look something like this: L-21-2-1. The translation is as follows: L = December (A = January, B = February, C = March, etc..), 21 = 21st day of the month, 2 = 2002 (3 = 2003, etc..), 1 = 1st run on that date. So L-21-2-1 was made in the first run on December 21st, 2002. I hope this helps. -Jim http://www.teamhornerfishing.com |
