TR: Saugeen

This trip started funny. Stop by Grindstone to pickup some stuff and
the owner asked what i was doing on the 30th. Answered "Working." a
bit defensively as I wasn't sure what he had in mind. Turns out he
was intending to try a new drift on the Saugeen and need a "sport' to
be the guinea pig.

Me.

On the 30th, we're well aware that Katrina's remenants are pushing our
way so the trip could get "eventful". As it turns out, the crude
state of the pullout point held much more adventure than did Katrina.

Anyway, not to belabour people with a load of boring fish stories, I
boated this 24 1/4" beauty.

Outstanding. Actually, I was bemoaning the death of the Susquehanna,
Potomac and Shenandoah smallmouth fisheries just last night. Wanted to get
out and fish, but it would be many hours of driving just to find a fish over
8 inches.

Parts of Katrina blew our way last night. I didn't last long, but it was
pretty stormy.
