drophsot

has anyone here fished a dropshot with a tube ,grub or any other bait on
the bottom in place of a weight, if so what bait seems to work best.

I have tried it with a weedless jig. Brush guards not trimmed. I didn't
catch anything on the jig, but I did bag a few on the dropshot worm. I
think it might be a good tactic with a jig with rattles as the clicking may
draw active fish to the area.

Why put something down there that's just more likely to get snagged? If
you want to fish two baits, tie on 2 drop sot hooks.

I live in Michigan, and a dropshot rig is illegal unless yo have a hook
on the bottom or a 3 inch dropper.

I know about the 3" dropper, but I didn't know you could make it legal
in Mich by putting a hook on the weight. IF that's the case, I would put
on a plain round jighead with a weedguard and bend the hook over so it
wouldn't catch anything, just to be within the letter of the outdated
law that shouldn't even be construed as having anything to do with this
application in the first place.
