A worm filled with air. You can use a hypodermic needle, or buy a little
plastic squeese bottle, with a pointed metal tip at at any fishing store.

Catches the hell out of fish too. I use that method when there are
weeds or lots of clutter on the bottom that my worm might fall into
and not be seen in. Works great. Just don't put too much air in or
they float right back to the top.
