Smokies patterns?
 

Howdy folks,

Been a few years since I've fished the Smokies area this time of year,
mainly spring and summer. Any input on what dries to fish? I'm taking a long
a decent supply of ants, BWOs and tiny things--plus some terrestrials. And,
of course, the usual nymphs. Just looking for that special bug I may be
overlooking. I'm staying on the Townsend side, mainly fishing in the park.

i fish the carolina side of the smokies. elk hair caddis are always good
to have along, as are parachute adams. those and bwos always seem to
work best for me... except when they don't. g

I'd say keep it small. Also depends a lot on the stream. In some places the
closer you can get to a niblet the better, but in some others you need a
light cahill or elk hair caddis or adams that's so small that a spider web
will be a hazard.
