........can either be from May 7-14(ends Sat before Mother's Day), or
May 21-28(after Reid's anniversary, my spouses Birthday, etc). I leave the decision up to those interested in attending. Feedback, please......? Tom |

As the 7 May date conflicts with my daughter's college graduation in beautiful downtown Omaha, I vote for the 21-28th. That way, I can take the spousal unit to a basabaroo game for the anniversary and then hang out with the unwashed masses at Penns (this year, I'll be donating quarters for the showers). -- Frank Reid Reverse email to reply .. |

That week has historically been very good weather wise(Vince!! have any stats?) and there is still a chance of catching the Drake. Just a note on the 7th-14th. That week can sometimes be a 'tweener for the big thick hatches, but if the sulphurs start up that week, as they often due, the fish can get plenty stupid when they see those yellow beauties the first time of the year. That being said, my vote is for the 21st-28th. Also as a note, checking out some other possible Penn's accommodations for the week in order to accommodate a crowd if needed. Also may look for a place for 2-3 days in North Central PA around Upper Pine, Slate, Cedar Run, and/or Kettle Creek if anyone is interested let me know. Jeff/IJ/Wayne - Heard a nasty rumor you guys may not be coming up next year...say it isn't so.... The Finn |

The Finn ij says he's not going. i doubt i'll go as i've invested heavily in deepsea futures and the end of may is at the cusp of prime time for reaping dividends. jeff |

For the crew I think the latter is best to guarantee good weather. That
week has historically been very good weather wise(Vince!! have any stats?) From May 7 to May 14, the 30-year average high temp rises from 66 to 68, and .79" of rain falls. From May 21 to May 28, the 30-year average high temp rises from 70 to 72, and .90" of rain falls. Not a whole lot of difference, although the latter period is trifle wetter. Does anyone remember the dates of the clave several yera ago when it rained the whole time and Penns Crick resembled the Mississippi? That one year alone could explain the higher rainfall from May 21 - 28. vince |
