Hook, swivle size

Hi

After many years, I am wanting to get back out on the beach fishing again on
the south coast of the UK.

The only thing is I am starting my tackle box off fresh again. I want to
know what is a good general hook, swivel size of general shore fishing.

Thanks

I always size my hook to the "bait" I'm using, not the size fish I'm
going after, I've caught huge fish on small hooks
