From AOL News:

"A report that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department issued Monday
said Whittington was retrieving a downed bird and stepped out of the
hunting line he was sharing with Cheney .

"Another covey was flushed and Cheney swung on a bird and fired,
striking Whittington in the face, neck and chest at approximately 30
yards," the report said."

So there! g

It does say that. It also says there was no indication that anyone
involved was under the apparent influence of alcohol or drugs. It also
says that Katherine Armstrong was an eye-witness. So are you prepared
to accept it in its entirety as an accurate reflection of the facts?
BTW, it was done on Monday.

Armstrong was at least 100 yards away, in an automobile, and she didn't
notice anything wrong until she saw the reaction of the Secret Service.
What a great eye witness that is.

Cheney also admitted to drinking earlier that day. Drinking, combined
with the cocktail of medications he takes for his heart condition, must
make for a potent mix.

He's in a world of trouble.

Hm......

So, are you suggesting that the quote which says, in part "A report that the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department issued Monday..." is wrong? Or do you
mean that it was instead Monday? Not that I'm arguing.....it just seems to
me that nothing in the quote.....or in your typically brilliant
analysis.....precludes the possibility that it may actually have been
Monday. And, of course, one can hardly deny the obvious fact that it may
have been Monday.........or (who knows?) maybe even Monday, for that matter.

who has a hunch that once this little snag gets straightened out, it'll all
just fall right into place.

This is politics, not the real world. Cheney's a laughingstock, so he's
finished.

Exactly.

Not a chance in hell. This is politics, not the real world.

And you're a ****in' nitwit.

Cheney will finish his time as VP, retire from public service with one
hell of a nice retirement, and go fishing/hunting where ever, when
ever he feels the need. Meanwhile you will continue your pittiful
life as a ersatz cowboy on Brokeback Mountain. You're already
finished. d;o)

This hunting incident may not damage Cheney himself, he
was headed for retirement in 2009 in any case, but it
will hurt the Republican party.

Joe Sixpack will tolerate a lot, **** on the Constitution,
lie to Congress, torture and kill a few towel heads, who
cares. But Joe Sixpack knows that shooting your hunting
companion in the face is, at best, careless stupidity and
if he himself had done it he'd be talkin' to the sheriff
forthwith and not the next day. Joe Sixpack *hates* rich
*******s who think they're above the law.

This will resonate in a negative way at least through the
2006 elections even if Cheney does manage to remain in
office.
