First outing of the year
Hi All,
Went to a power plant lake yesterday. Lake Columbus is about 40 minutes away and is pretty good size. It has an island and everything. Largemouth, Smallmouth, White Bass, Stripers, panfish and Catfish are in the lake. Bass have to be over 18 inches. I threw a lot of soft plastics, jigs, tubes, and SW spinner baits without so much as a bump. A few kids were catching 8 to 10 inch Bass and small Catfish on live minnows but that was about all the action going. Carry in boats/electric and gas are allowed. I saw one guy with a 14/15 ft jon boat on a trailer back the trailer up through the gap in the concrete barrier blocks, hook an electric winch to it and let it down to the water with the front "dolly wheel". It worked pretty slick. I may have to take the Sponge over there and do the same thing. Anyway I talked to most of the people fishing there and all agreed that it was nice to get out even if the fish were not cooperating. It was fun watching the kids catching and bragging how their fish was bigger. :} Randy, how did your first day out go? Do any good? Let us know. BTW, the new Currados were great! I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it! First outing of the year
More like a first few hours, it was pouring out and very cold. Dave thought
he got a swirl but it was just some floating ice. Most of the lakes have melted away today with temps in the 60's, should be able to launch Saturday again -- www.wermieerniebaits.com Making fish regret their decision on a daily basis "Dan, danl, danny boy, Redbeard, actually Greybeard now" wrote in message ...
