There are folks in Swain county who are still miffed
that the road was never completed as promised. The
way they see it Swain county could be every bit the
tacky, disgusting and exploitive goldmine for the
locals as Gatlinburg and West Yellowstone if they
only had a road. As it is the Indians have pretty
much cornered the market on tacky, disgusting and
exploitive on the North Carolina side of the goldmine.

There will plenty of money available for such a project after the Gummint
sells off or leases a few acres of park land for oil drilling and other
projects benefiting George's buddies. Of course, at the rates they will
probably charge for the land, it may take a whole National Park or two to
cover the funding.
