I'm thinking of experimenting with my 7' MH rod with some of that Berkley
Ironsilk that I somehow recieved in the mail. Should I back the spool with
tape as I have heard you guys mention in the past?

Second question: I may be relocated to Decatur, IL. Anybody know anything
about fishing around there?

I used Power Pro on some of my rods, and I have had good louck just backing
it with cheap mono. No tape needed.

My understanding is the tape is to keep the line from slipping on the
spool. I just put whatever cheap mono I have of a similar diameter on
as backing instead. Seems to do the trick with PowerPro (never used
Ironsilk).

A large part of my wife's family still lives in the Decatur area.
There is some good fishing in and around that area. When will you
know about the relocation plans?

Take the ironsilk and save it for November, you can use it to tie the turkey
closed, do not, I repeat, do not use it for fishing. IMO

Well Dan, bass fishing is spotty. In my opinion real dinks. I grew up there
and honestly the better fishing is on Shelbyville lake. about 30 min sse off
of hwy 128. State record Musky came out of there too about a year or so ago.
Good catfishing and crappie fishing.

30 min west is springfield . Lake springfield isnt bad. Clinton and weldon
springs both have a fair fishery too.

I had one made out of smoked plastic by a local plastic dealer in Norfolk.
They did a real nice job.
